Anti-fatigue footwear from uvex

Musculoskeletal disorders are often the result of repetitive motions which could involve lifting, bending or twisting as well as walking or standing on hard, unforgiving surfaces with inadequately cushioned footwear. These occupational health problems can also be hard to spot and difficult to manage as they take time to develop and the connection between the cause and effect is not always obvious.

Employees experience discomfort in the lower back, neck, shoulders, knees and lower legs, often leading to fatigue. This contributes to performance impairment with employees three times more likely to cause, or have, an accident in the workplace.

When working in the pharmaceutical sector, concentration is key, so ensuring your PPE does not distract from your performance is paramount.

uvex safety footwear supports your body while at work and helps mitigate fatigue. Providing better quality footwear with cushioning and multilayer shock absorption properties gives consistently better levels of individual musculoskeletal protection.

Safety footwear designed for the female foot

uvex safety footwear has been designed specifically to combat fatigue and offer long-term comfort to the wearer. A lower weight reduces the strain on the body and also reduces risk of injury.

Women have a lighter bone weight, with softer and more flexible joints. These physiological differences translate to differences in footwear design, particularly with safety shoes. Simply reducing the male product size for females is not sufficient.

All uvex 1, uvex 1 G2 and uvex 1 sport white models are available in a female fitting, where these models have been manufactured specifically for the shape and contours of the female foot using a female last, delivering the perfect fit.

uvex tune-up board

Using the uvex tune-up board to find your perfect fit

Walking or standing on hard and flat surfaces can put strain and pressure on the arches of our feet. Arch pain is generally caused by the pronation of our feet. Pronation relates to the rolling motion of the foot as we walk or run, if you over-pronate or under-pronate, pressure and forces can become unevenly distributed across the foot, causing pains in the arch of the foot. Insoles that effectively support foot arches can help ease discomfort by distributing your body weight evenly across the foot.

uvex tune-up arch support insoles provide support and comfort to the arch of the foot. They can help realign the natural position of the foot helping to reduce foot, back and knee pain and also help avoid fallen arches.

  • Place your foot flat on the board with the back of your heel touching the raised guard.
  • Thermo-dynamic crystals change colour when exposed to body heat, leaving an impression of your arch type. High arches will leave a narrow foot impression, whereas flat arches will leave a wider impression.
